演題	Research situation and drug development in China
概要	International collaboration plays an important role in current research. To attain research collaboration with Chinese partners, understanding of research situation in China is necessary. As Chinese economy has got a continual high-growth in the past 10 years, investment in science and technology by the government has increased with a high speed. Consequently, there has been a significant improvement in research situation and drug development in China. The numbers of publications and patents augmented highly in recent years. Several innovative drugs have been approved, while dozens of others are under clinical trial evaluation. In the talk of Dr Kong, research situation in China will be described, and discovery and development of several antitumor drugs will be mentioned.

演題	ウイルス研究の軌道
概要	物理学、特に力学分野において、軌道とはある物体が向心力の影響を受けて他の物体の周囲を運動する経路と定義されている。ウイルス研究の歴史は、ウイルスに関わる研究のまわりに生命科学の発展があった時代から、分子という概念の周りをまわる生命科学の１分野として進展している現在までの歴史である。前者については、いくつかの例を引いて俯瞰してみたい。　一方、鉄道界では、軌道とは列車を運ぶ（が進む）道のことを指している。研究者としてウイルス研究に関わっている場合に、どのような向心力、あるいは進む道が働いている（働いていた）のだろうか。癌の発生に興味のあった研究者を例に、ウイルス研究が向心力／進む道となった事例を引きながら、現代にあってもウイルス研究に向心力であるのか、あるいは／かつ柱の周りをまわる研究でもあるのかについて、ポストゲノムの方法論も利用した最近の研究例もあげて、議論をしようと考えている。
